Aim: To provide the participants with a basic insight into the analysis of nonlinear dynamic phenomena as well as the theory and application of ordinary differential equations; further to enable them to carry through a simulation of dynamic systems using the computer. |
Contents: Analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems by means of phase plane methods. Classification of equilibrium points. Limit cycles. Bifurcations, averaging methods, perturbation methods, stability, and chaos. Simulation of dynamical systems by numerical solution of systems of ordinary differential equations. |
