3b. Stability of equilibria, full state space

This plot shows the complete set of leading eigenvalues of the above equilibria computed with Arnoldi iteration, to accuracy 1e-7.

  • uLB, UB: the Nagata lower and upper branch equilibria (computed also by Waleffe).
  • uNB, uNB2, and uEQ5: new equilibria found by Gibson, Halcrow, and Cvitanović.
[All unstbale eigenvalues and eigenvectors are available upon request. We do not include 3D eigenvector plots here, as we do not find them illuminating.]
