Thomas Bartsch, Turgay Uzer and I have discussed a possible term
project for you. Thomas and you can work out a detailed weekly schedule
how the project will run, but roughly I would suggest it you divide it in
3 parts:
1) literature
write up uniform approximations
(Thomas thesis + several basic papers)
2) calculation
reproduce a basic Airy-function type uniform approximation
through a simple bifurcation (from Thomas thesis or other
literature)
3) calculation
implement a uniform approximation to a more complicated
bifurcation, not published (but Thomas will suggest how to
go about it)
1) and 2) are necessary to complete the project, 2) is additional (but
more fun)
