PREREQUISITES

A basic background in calculus, ordinary differential equations and classical mechanics.

TEACHING METHOD

Two lectures and a homework problem set per week.

GRADING

Homeworks, an in-class mid-term, and a final exam; the grades will be based on these (60%/20%/20%). Exams and homeworks include optional problems ("bonus" = extra credit; it's like money in a bank). Homework assignments will be posted on the web every Thursday, due Tuesday, and by graded by your fellow students by the next Tuesday.
